Some artists deserve their wealth and some don't

• there's the hugely talented British portrait painter Lucian Freud , whose estate was recently wound up.  He left £96 million in his will, the largest sum ever bequeathed by a British artist, testimony to the record-breaking prices his works fetched before his death last year at the age of 88.
