Hello - interesting art items

image: Karsten Moran for The New York Times

  • The Art Newspaper reports that The Frick Collection Museum in New York has doubled it's membership just recently and it's all due to that amazing phenomena of the bestseller book!  As Donna Tartt's new novel, GoldFinch became a bestseller (Amazon's book of the year for 2013), the bookclubs started queuing around the block to view The Goldfinch, a hitherto little-known picture by Carel Fabritius, part of the current Masterpieces of Dutch Painting from Mauritshuis exhibition at The Frick

  • The National Gallery in London is playing "spot the difference" with a current exhibition featuring two of Van Gogh's three original versions of his famous Sunflowers paintings - shown together for the first time in 65 years, depicting how the artist "extends the theme, animates and reinvents the subject"
