- Interesting art snippet from The Week: Parisian art students who wish to display and sell their work from Montmartre's Place du Terte behind the Sacre Coeur will have to abide by a new rule, from now onwards. Seems prospective artists who are vying for a license will now have to paint an original work in 90 minutes in front of a panel of art experts. Apparently, dodgy artists applying for a new license, have been sending in photos of other people's work to the commission for approval, which has resulted in "ugly landscapes and unrecognisable portraits" being dished up to the buying public. Despite the annual license fee of 233 pounds! demand for places is huge: 40 candidates will be competing for the six places (of 298 licenses (half for landscapes, half for portraits)) currently available, in this month.
- Several interesting exhibitions are on, in and around CT this week. Now that things have calmed down a little, watch this space for more regular updates, views and reviews. Get out there and experience some of the exciting creative energy yourself, it's so good for the soul.
cheers
