• currently on at The Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate, Kent, is an exhibition entitled Atmosphere by Edmund de Waal who wrote that amazing (difficult for some) book, The Hare with the Amber Eyes - "...minimalist displays of coolly beautiful ceramic objects seductively straddle the old gap between art and craft. Modernism and ancient influences elegantly combine in art at once beautiful and thought-provoking." Jonathan Jones, The Guardian

Greetings - so what will you be up to this coming weekend?  Not into food festivals, poetry readings or Super Rugby then here are some alternative suggestions

• the Labia is hosting the 2014 X Fest Film Festival for the 7th time, starting tonight and on until Sunday 6 April.  So, "if you’re looking for an alternative movie theatre experience, the bloodiest horror flicks, killer band doccies and films that will have you gripping the edge of your seat, then this ultimate underground showcase is just what the (mad) doctor ordered" - don't go on your own

•  get to Mavericks on Friday 4 April for the second round of the Pole Dance Championship from 10 - 11pm.  Entrance fee is R50 pp for ladies and R100 pp for gents - great entertainment!
